What a cleanse/detox means to me...
~releasing and cleansing the body of negative debris...aka toxic build up!
~to give the body some rest. ( and by that I mean offer the body food that is easy to digest, that is full of nutrients, and offers support in naturally cleansing and detoxing the body systems, like the digestive, lymphatic, liver, kidneys, adrenals glands, gall bladder, blood...really, the whole system.)
~eat food that decreases inflammation in the body...so no gluten, grains, sugar, dairy. All these items cause inflammation in the body.
~increase awareness of what my body is telling me...what it is needing and what it doesn't want in it.
-supply the body with herbs and nutrients via foods that help eliminate and cleanse the body. At the moment I am using the 'Wild Rose Herbal Detox Kit' along with a couple of tinctures my naturopath has suggested to me, that helps with the adrenal glands, liver and kidney function.
-rest the body for the first few days as the body processes that change, then start to build activity into regular daily routine that helps move the toxins and increase vibratory rate in the body.

I have been doing detoxes for about 10 years now. usually spring and fall. I began with the Wild Rose Herbal Detox kit originally and it is one I keep coming back to. The kit is 12 days long. I remember the first few times how hard that seemed....12 days!!! Yikes!
These days I do a 30 day cleanse. I start with the Wild Rose...or a juicing cleanse for 1-3 days...once the herbal kit is done, I continue with the whole food eating...clean eating for the rest of the 30 days. My hope is to continue with that style of eating....but so far I eventually resort back to adding grains, gluten, sugar and dairy. But...each time, I learn more, I last a bit longer on this whole and healthy way of eating. I learn more about healthier choices and recipes that I keep adding into my meal choices.
This time I am doing 2 rounds of the Wild Rose kit. 12 days on one week off the herbs and then back on to the kit for another 12 day....I am still going to be eating whole clean foods between the two kits. I felt I needed a deeper and longer cleanse this time around....my body has had a lot of stressors on it since the new year...and my weight, inflammation in my body and chronic pain is screaming at me telling me in its wisdom, I need a deeper/longer cleanse time. Once I have finished the herbal detox kits...I will continues on with whole clean cleaning. My goal is to shift into a Paleo Diet...and stay on that for awhile as I experience if my body likes it or not...and what it needs for nutrition. The Paleo Diet is also referred to as Cleaning Eating, Whole Food, Primal, Ancestral, etc.
I will be sharing my journey with you as I move through this detoxing month, plus the transition to a Paleo eating way of life.
